How many of you have anxiety so bad it affects your sleep?

Zardoz asked:

I have lost a lot of sleep because of anxiety. I really do worry 24 hours a day. (If worrying really did age you, I would be wrinkled like a prune and gray.)

I’m one – I used to worry about everything, until I realized that the reallly lousy things that happened to me were the things I never even considered. And the things I worried about seldom happened at all. Here’s a trick – when something comes up that you need to deal with, if it’s not an emergency, promise yourself that you’ll deal with it in 3 days. Usually, before then, an answer appears. If not, deal with it then.

I think it’s more common than people will admit. I take 3 Benadryls almost every night to sleep.

I also have anxiety attacks, which have required hospital visits. I have lost sleep over it, can’t eat, and barely eat dinner at night. I would reccommend seeing a therapist for a sleep medication.

Many people completely overlook the factor of what the mind does to them. Would it not be much better to deal with the problem rather than mask it? The basic problem is within the sub-conscious mind.. Something which can be dealt with. Those embedded emotions can play havoc on one’s daily activities and thoughts. Treated properly, they can be deleted or eliminated from that storehouse. The ones so deeply embedded within the mind. This maneuver is almost instantaneously effective.

I have high anxiety disorder. I often catch myself being tense. Shoulders draw up, one foot moves like i am shaking, i cant be in a line at a store if there is to many people waiting. I move my leg when i am in bed and sometimes i put my feet on the foot board and shake the bed. It is a PAIN in the ***, but i have learned to live with that part. I take Zoloft and let me tell you,,,,, I love it. No it don’t take away all the anxiety but you can deal with it better. If you want to know more on this e-mail me, i have been through hell and back with this disorder. Good luck….

It has happened. But when I get anxious or depressed, I just want to sleep. It makes me feel so unproductive. try taking anxiety med. They have some that you can take daily to try to subside these feelings. Some that aren’t addictive or narcotic. Buspirone (i think)

Did you know that the bibke states that it is a sin to worry. Lift all your worries to the most high and leave them with him and he will take care and provide you with all you need. If you don’t want to worry anymore just ask god to free you from this. Its free :)

I feel your pain. I have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder. It is what you seem to be describing. Panic disorder is when there needs not to be a catalyst, no particular event , you just simply have a panic attck. I suffer from them at least two to four times per day. O chose not to do the anti depressant route because I am in sales and have to be a quick thinker, and anti depressants seem to slow my train of thought ad take away my spunk. However there are alot of people who swear by them. I chose an alternate route. I take potropolol (whew!) which is a beta blocker. It inhibits the producltion of adrenaline, and keeps you very calm, and it is not a narcotic. Many people take this for blood pressure issues as well. You can take it every four to six hours or you can take it when you feel a panic attack cooming on. And then there are the times where my attack wake me up out of my sleep. Well, then I take .25 mg of Xanax. I am about to start taking this new drug, (I can’t remember the name, but I will write back with it) that is made soley for panic attacks and thoste that suffer from panic disorder. I look forward to seeing if it works. I’ll let you know, in the meantime, hope this info helps! Blessings…
