How do I overcome a morbid fear of drowning?
I don’t consider this an illogical fear for obvious reasons, but even still, I can barely watch someone drown on tv than to even think of drowning in real life. Is it possible to overcome this fear?
Aside from drowning myself, of course.

Do you know what my morbid fear is? To get too close to an image of idealism and perfection that I believe so strongly in, only to be disappointed and broken about the vfery thing that my life would revolve with. Which means, to believe so strongly ina particular idea, or cause, only to get into it soo deep and then be painfully disillusioned and angered because striving for a non=existent thing would be what your life pretty much revolved around. That’s my morbid fear. I’d rather look at a painting from afar than to look at it closely andsee all the cracks and blobs in it. I dont’ like getting too close to something which woudl disappoint me. I’d rather be at fault for staying away from it.
Especially when a family member believed in a cause so deeply, yet was BETRAYED in time of need by supposed compatriots who either backstabbed him, used him, or labelled him, I would fear all the more to put my heart an dsoul in a cause that had previously failed this person.

it is said that drowning is actually a pleasant death. Learn to swim well and be safe in the water but the fear may never pass
