I had that in my late teens and it usually happened when I was faced with something that causes a deep anxiety. That anxiety brought on panic attacks. Perhaps the same is happening with you? Try to think about the last time you had a panic attack – what were you doing and how did you feel about it? Also, is there there any common factor at the times of these panic attacks?

Once you find the connection, you can start to handle the attacks. I haven’t had a panic attack in over 30 years now…

    Good luck…I hope this helps

Lauren, Paul brings up a great point about finding what might be a common factor when the panic attacks are occurring. I had panic attacks for 10 years and I rarely get them now. The key is to identify what your thoughts are that lead up to the panic attacks. For me, it was irrational, negative thoughts that always led to one. How do deal with that or how do you remember that thoughts that are causing panic attacks for you? Start a journal. Record all your thoughts leading to the panic attack. I think you will discover some patterns. And once you identify those, you can begin to work on them. There are many other things you can do to help in curing panic attacks. The link below has some information about an effective system available online for curing panic attacks.
