Vannas Lee asked:

Anxiety is when a person feeling nervous, anxious, jumpy and fear. Very often, a person who is suffering from depression also will experience anxiety. Anxiety includes anxiety disorder, general anxiety, social anxiety, phobias and others. Whatever it is the important thing is to control and stop it immediately.

People who are suffering from anxiety and panic attack will tend to feel as they are having heart attack. This is because they will often feel breathless and chest pain. Anxiety attacks will raise our blood pressure, it is very dangerous as a person might just faint during the attacks.

Anxiety and panic attacks usually a result of lack of confidence. The person will tend to think that they are worthless and feel so stress and fear especially when they required doing a presentation or speech in front of a group of people. They are over conscious on how people will look at them and think negative about them, which is just an imagination in their mind and it is not real.

They will tend to feel uneasy and worried easily even it is just a small thing. At night, they are having difficulty to sleep which will lead to tiredness and not able to stay focus the following day. Tiredness will make a person being angry, irritable and feel like you are out of control over your behavior.

It is very unhealthy to suffer from anxiety for too long, face it and have it solved fast. You can find natural cures, techniques and treatments online on how to deal with your stressful life or seek help from professional counselor to teach you the skill to manage and stop anxiety.

Create a video blog…instantly.

Mary S. Diaz asked:

The prevalence of panic attacks in the United States over a lifetime is about 2 to 5 percent, and is twice as common in women than in men. Often, it is present along with other psychiatric disorders. One-third to one-half of all sufferers also tend to experience depression. The rest tend to have anxiety disorders, social phobia, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder or have substance abuse in their history.

Panic attacks and panic disorders produce feelings of intense fear and an impending sense of doom. These feelings may last for a few minutes up to an hour. The accompanying physical signs include shortness of breath and chest pain that may sometimes be mistaken for a heart attack. Patients with anxiety disorders may also experience such attacks.

The underlying causes of panic disorder are due to several factors that predispose the individual to maladaptive behavior. Genetics plays a role in this as studies have shown that twins share a greater proportion of illness when one of the siblings is affected. A person’s temperament also affects how he or she deals with stress. Those who suffer high levels of anxiety generally will develop panic disorders. Past history of childhood abuse may also increase the risk of having a panic attack later on in adult life. Life stress is another component to be considered. Many patients suffering from panic attacks have more life stress along with a high frequency of stressful events.

As noted above, attacks manifest themselves in a number of distinct ways. The most common are neurological symptoms which account for 44 percent of physical symptoms. These include headaches, dizziness, faintness, and pseudo-seizures. The next most common symptoms are cardiac related (39%) which include chest pain and fast heart rate. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as stomach ache account for the remaining 33%.

Because a lot of these symptoms are physical in nature, many patients seek the help of a primary care provider as opposed to a psychiatrist or psychologist where the true root of the problem lies. There is a study which showed that only 26% of patients with panic attacks showed up at a mental health clinic for treatment. This is a huge problem because the work-up done by a primary care physician is often insufficient to diagnose the problem. The cycle repeats itself upon the next panic attack, and the patient grows increasingly frightened by these “unexplained” symptoms. Furthermore, more expensive work-ups are done on these patients such as higher additional consultation, specialty clinic referrals, emergency department visits, hospital admissions, and laboratory tests — most of which show that the patient is “normal” in all physical aspects. This kind of utilization of resources generally preclude the diagnosis of panic disorders by a staggering ten years on average.

Very few patients are completely free of the conditions of their panic disorders. Frequent recurrences of attacks are common. The general treatment used by healthcare providers depends on the stage of development of the disorder. Initial presentation typically warrants advice on deep breathing exercises and relaxation methods. Subsequent recurrences entail using pharmacological treatments or cognitive behavioral therapy to control the attacks. Most of the drug treatments involve either serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors such as venlafaxine, tricyclic antidepressants such as nortriptyline, benzodiazepines such as alprazolam, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors. Combination therapies among the various drug classes are also possible.

Panic attacks and panic disorders are common psychological illnesses. Having a clear understanding of the triggers for it and the associated symptoms is important in finding appropriate medical care. Even though the illness is chronic, it is important to realize that there are still many effective treatments available.

Caffeinated Content

Jeffrey Scott Rosen asked:

We all may have heard of anxiety, but we just may not understand exactly what it is or what triggers it. What exactly is anxiety you ask? Well medically stated, anxiety is a state of apprehension, uncertainty, and fear resulting from the anticipation of a realistic or fantasized threatening event, danger, or situation, often impairing physical and psychological functioning in a multitude of ways. In easier words to understand, anxiety is a state of uneasiness and apprehension, as about future uncertainties.

Some of us experience far more anxiety than others, and another portion of us experience entirely debilitating symptoms of anxiety. If you’re someone who knows of people with anxiety or experiences it yourself, it may be helpful to understand its triggers. There are many triggers to anxiety which include physical actions like consumption such as caffeine or poor food choices, while other triggers are mental and social such as too much focus and/or critique of ourselves and our actions whether alone or in groups. You may experience social anxiety or just find yourself anxious in regards to your thoughts about personal issues.

With the busy world we live in, adjoined with family and financial pressure, there are more and more people being affected by anxiety everyday. Reduce stress hypnosis can help you. Reduce stress hypnosis is natural stress relief that can be achieved from the privacy of your own home.

Many people feel like they’re different, they’re alone, and even that they’re crazy! Well, you’re not any of these things. It’s very normal for you to have the mental and physical reaction of anxiety, especially if you are enduring a rough patch of the road of life. Reduce stress hypnosis will reduce stress, reduce anxiety, and give you a calm sense of control. Control will be your best friend. Feeling out of control certainly won’t reduce stress or anxiety, it will only magnify it.

Give yourself the happy and healthy life you truly deserve. You’ll be glad you did and I’m sure those around you will take notice. Reduce stress hypnosis is extremely effective and includes no frightening medications or trips to the doctors. The power lies within you to feel better.

Caffeinated Content for WordPress

Don Samba asked:

Anxiety, the Signs came about as a result of a realization that many of us never realize or comprehend the changes and state we go through when we suffer from an Anxiety attack. The signs may be short lived and mild to say the least when we go through an attack, or baffling and disorientating when it hits us when we least expect it.

Most of us go through life without realizing the stress and the amount of strains psychologically and spiritually our bodies are going through during our every day jobs. We will be aware of the amount of physical strain our bodies and mind go through by our feeling tired and wasted after a strenuous session of work. this would result in the need to take a break from the routine to give our bodies some time to refresh and regenerate its supply of energy to go on working, not realizing that we need time to reflect on our actions as well as those of others, our environment and its state before moving on to new matters. A period of reflection, recollection, filtering and dumping or off loading things that would otherwise clutter our minds.

Modern life has made life more demanding and taxing not only on our bodies but on our minds as well. Think of the amount of physical work or lack of it may have on our bodies all the while consider the balance met between physical load and the amount of mental calculations and decisions we have to work on as we wade through the information pool that makes up modern life.

States may include as a result: worry, dread, fear, all of which would reduce and bring down ones confidence to perform in different life activities such as relationships, games and sports, work, personal development and many more. Symptoms would include: irritability, restlessness, having a hard time concentrating, muscular tension, nausea, insomnia in the worst case of lack of sleep, headaches that may lead to migraines, sharp pains in the chest that would feel like a heart attack, inability to have proper bladder control, breathing difficulty, shivering and sweating, blurred vision, and feeling drowsy amongst other symptoms.

There are different forms Anxiety disorder may occur, each with none or more prominent characteristics or signs that single them out from the rest. It important to recognize and seek advice and treatment for any form or level as it may lead complications or manifest itself in more destructive and harder to treat forms.

Caffeinated Content

Aaron Donovan asked:

Close your eyes for a moment. Picture yourself carrying out the activities of a normal day. There you are, snoozing your alarm clock one too many times before finally waking up and making the coffee. You wake up the kids. You drop them off at school. You stop at a convenience store for gas. You head to the office. You take a lunch break. You head to the gym and workout. It is a normal day. Nothing is wrong. Things are “as expected.” You head to your 2:00PM department meeting, fill your glass at the water cooler, and sit down, expecting nothing but another boring meeting that takes too long.

Your supervisor asks for your input, and you begin speaking. Three or four sentences into your reply, you glance at a couple of coworkers faces, and for some reason, you associate the scene with trouble. They were all your friends thirty seconds ago. And you know that they still are now, but some alarm has gone off in your mind. You feel like you are the prey. You are not delusional. You know this is not real. But you cannot shake the feeling. You get a little short of breath as you finish sharing your input with the group. The meeting moves on. But the feeling of being in harm’s way does not subside. It grows.

In fact, it is growing rapidly. Your heart is beginning to race. You feel like you cannot get enough air. You are trembling. You are sweating. You are horrified. And you know you are not being realistic, but it feels so real. Your sympathetic nervous system has been engaged, and your animal instinct of “fight or flight” is aggressively suggesting “flight.” You think of bailing out of the meeting. You know that you will be embarrassing yourself by doing so, but you do not care. You feel you must escape this scene at all costs.

In a short, two minute period, your panic attack has peaked. Suddenly thrust into a dark alternate reality, you cannot shake this feeling of terror. Pacing around your office restroom, you try to breathe, try to think positive thoughts, try to tell yourself this is not real. But it is so hard to shake. With your heartbeat raging, you feel like you are choking and that your throat is closing. You are paralyzed by fear. You are shaking, sweating, and you feel like you are going crazy or are about to die.

When someone is plagued by panic attacks, they need treatment. But rarely are they shown the two categories of treatment to choose from. Panic attack sufferers need cognitive therapy first and nutritional therapy second. Good cognitive therapy techniques can provide instant relief during an attack, and nutritional therapy can provide a long term healing of the sympathetic nervous system over time.

Kansieo.com

Jessica Strode asked:

Today it seems like stress and anxiety are an epidemic. So many people racing to get to work, school, and other errands and obligations each day causing even more stress to pile on. It’s no wonder why anxiety panic attack disorders are becoming more common place. Everyone must deal with some level of anxiety in their lives, the trick is how you choose to manage it. Some people don’t try to manage it at all, they just try to “deal with it” by ignoring it and trudging on.

Panic attacks can happen to anyone, including you. They are most often experienced when the stress and anxiety of everyday life becomes too much to deal with, so your body manifests it in the form of such symptoms as nausea, sweating, shaking, rapid heart beat, stomach cramps, and other symptoms. Millions of people a year experience these symptoms and continue on as if it didn’t even happen.

The smart thing to do about these anxiety panic attack disorders is to seek help right away. Whether you turn to a doctor who will prescribe you medication to control the attacks or a therapist so you can release some of that stress and tension by talking your problems out. Anxiety disorders, even though they stem mainly from emotional problems, can be very serious and effect your overall health. One panic attack probably won’t kill you, but if you consistently experience them one after the other, then you put yourself in harms way. Your best option for controlling panic attacks is to figure out different ways you can channel your frustration from whatever is bothering you into something creative so that when the time comes you can keep your attacks at bay. Many people who experience these attacks often use a key phrase or soothing mantra they repeat to themselves over and over until they feel that anxious feeling go away.

Caffeinated Content

Emanuel Cane asked:

Many individuals are prone to bouts of hyperventilation from time to time, possibly due to a neuroses, or a reaction to something that possibly occurred in early childhood. This occurrence can remain with the individual as a form of deep-rooted anxiety that over time may become chronic in nature. When this occurs, hyperventilation syndrome can occur at any given time, due to some form of trigger. Hyperventilation syndrome usually occurs when an individual is in a state of panic. This panic attack can take many forms. It may be due to something the individual reacts too in some frightening way, or it even can occur when they dwell upon something that has seriously impacted their life.

Hyperventilation can have many, many different causes. Some of these causes can be due to some form of neuroses. These neuroses can take many different forms, such as a phobia of some kind. They could also act as a compulsive kind of act that needs to be performed over and over again. This can reach the point where the individual can become so anxious that they can react by hyperventilating. Another form can be a reaction to an obsession that will constantly plague them to the point where they become mentally overwhelmed and they go into a state of hyperventilation. There are also congenital reasons that will cause hyperventilation, such as impairment to the central nervous system. This may result in a form of psychoses that will prevent the individual to distinguish reality from fantasy.

When hyperventilation occurs, there is an excessive loss of carbon dioxide (CO2) when expelling the air from your lungs. The result is a respiratory alkalosis. The alkalosis will affect the brain causing a hypoxia or lack of oxygen. The individual experiences a spiraling affect of greater anxiety, and a feeling as if they are going to die. The individual will start breathing faster, saying they are having trouble breathing, all the while they are gasping for breath exhibiting a fearful expression, and there is a possibility that they can pass out. The best treatment for patients, who are experiencing the hyperventilation syndrome, is to have them breath in and out into a paper bag. Do not under any circumstances use a plastic bag as this can cause suffocation. Breathing into the paper bag, rebreathing the carbon dioxide (CO2) dissipates the alkalosis, allowing the brain to obtain the needed oxygen. For the individual who frequently experiences these bouts of the hyperventilation syndrome, the proper thing for them would be to see their healthcare provider to evaluate their physical and mental state. There can possibly be underlying causes that they are unaware of. Finding these causes and getting a definitive diagnosis may be the best way to end this frightening syndrome.

When hyperventilation occurs, there is an excessive loss of carbon dioxide (CO2) when expelling the air from your lungs.
Ryan Camana asked:

Are you suffering from worry and anxiety? Perhaps you’re spending your day with so many worries that you’re kept up at night just to worry some more. When you finally get to sleep you start worrying from the moment you wake up.

The only way to alleviate the situation is to take action. You have to face the anxiety head on to change the habit of worry as quickly as possible.

Here is a list of 7 action strategies to reduce anxiety:

1. Get a biofeedback device. A biofeedback device is a little electronic device which measures the electric conductivity of your skin. It sounds complicated but in practice it is a simple way of dealing with anxiety. The device displays in real-time how your body is feeling and reacting to the stress you are under. By having immediate feedback as to how deep breathing and muscle relaxation changes the signals, you can train yourself to calm down. Biofeedback is effective, quick and long-lasting.

2. Be sure to get support. Anxiety can make you feel embarrassed and ashamed. These feelings can make you feel like you’re alone in the world without anyone to turn to. Friends may be good to speak with about minor anxiety however be sure to speak with a professional about prolonged or severe anxiety.

3. Take stress reducing supplements. There is a body of research showing that certain herbs and supplements can help you dramatically reduce anxiety. The nice aspect of supplements is they tend to have less side effects than many of the habit forming medications available for anxiety. For a full list of supplements check out the free report here.

4. Learn self-hypnosis or meditation. Learning self-hypnosis or meditation is similar to the biofeedback device. Self-hypnosis and meditation teaches you to pay attention to your body’s reaction to anxiety. Self-hypnosis and meditation, although similar, are different practices. Both are simple to learn and can be practiced just about anywhere.

5. Begin doing high intensity, short duration exercise. Exercise releases endorphins which are the body’s natural pain killers. Often anxiety is caused because of pain and stiffness in the body which puts a burden on the endorphin producing areas of the brain. If you have done long, slow cardio for years you might have wear and tear injuries that are contributing to your anxiety. High intensity, short duration exercise which mimics sports is best for relieving anxiety.

6. Start a journal. Journaling is often touted as helping people to keep from “going crazy.” If you suffer from anxiety, you know that one of the major fears people experience is that of going crazy. What journaling does is give perspective. The reduction in anxiety is due to having a new view on what is really going on. Oftentimes anxiety will blur the lines between reality and imagination leading to thoughts that are blown completely out of proportion. The very act of writing out your problems makes them seem smaller and gives you the feeling that you are facing your fears.

7. Drink enough water. One of the symptoms of even mild dehydration is anxiety. To relieve anxiety be sure to drink plenty of water. If you drink caffeinated beverages be sure to drink even more water. Caffeine is notorious for dehydrating the brain. The effects of the stimulating caffeine combined with the dehydration can cause quite a bit of anxiety.

Caffeinated Content

Elisabetta Reist asked:

Anxiety, as it has very many forms, might require professional help.

There are cases of people who are constantly overwhelmed by their anxiety and nothing can help.

People who are in the presence of an anxiety sufferer are usually not in a position to give any help. Anxiety sufferers may also become violent because they cannot see any way out of their suffering.

I know of the case of a young man who was in an awful state of anxiety and, as he considered himself in a prison and was desperate, he demolished the door to the living room and threw down some pieces of furniture. He was at the point to kill his mother and could then be calmed down by neighbors. Such a case certainly requires professional help. (he got it almost immediately).

There are also other cases where the desperation is not so evident but as these people cannot sleep or do not eat, they also need the help of a professional either psychologist or psychiatrist and then they may be put under medication until they can be addressed and are open enough to understand that, actually, there is nothing wrong with them,.That life can be lived without anxiety. This means usually a long way to go with session of psychological help to make the person understand what causes their attacks.

In many of these cases there is a primordial lack of trust that had originated either in their childhood or in a trauma they had suffered in circumstances they may not even remember.

As it is known that the DNA remembers traumas that have happened in the past to relatives and not to the sufferer himself, it is sometimes difficult to find the true root of the sufferance. In some cases hypnosis can solve the problem in others various kinds of medical help can bring either a solution or at least can alleviate the sufferance.

Nobody should be ashamed to seek professional help. Mental diseases are at least as important as any physical ailment.

Most cases can find a solution. So, if natural ways cannot help, go and seek professional help. It is always better than living in constant anxiety.

Caffeinated Content

J J Seymour asked:

Many people suffer from the fear of wasps, hornets, yellowjackets, bumble bees and other winged insects of the order hymenoptera (i.e. insects with transparent wings). The reason for this is that this order of insects has a fearsome reputation. Wasps and many bees have a painful sting, and many people have been surprised as children by painful bites. Some are allergic to the wasp sting. In this case, their wasp phobia is reasonable, as the wasp can threaten their lives. However, there are many more people who aren’t allergic to wasps, yet still start screaming and running for their lives whenever any kind of buzzing, flying insect appears in their vicinity. This reaction is out of proportion to the actual threat the wasp or hornet presents to them.

Wasp Phobia

The Latinate word to describe this irrational, excessive terror of wasps is spheksophobia. Unless you’re actually allergic to the venom of hornets, yellowjackets, or bees, this unnecessary fear will severely interfere with your life, especially if you plan to spend any time outdoors during the spring and summer months. The fact is, most common varieties of wasp won’t sting you unprovoked. The only way they’d be likely to sting you is if you directly attacked them, or their nest. Indeed, spheksophobia can even increase your chances of getting stung. If a bee or wasp lands on you and you panic and jerk your limbs around, the insect may panic as well–and sting you.

Causes Of Extreme Spheksophobia

What makes some people react in extreme ways to the sight of wasps, without being allergic to these insects? The phobia can have any number of causes. One of the most common is, of course, having been stung by a bee, wasp, or hornet as a child. What can make these early experiences so traumatic is how sudden and surprising bee and wasp stings often are. Most people who get stung do so because they’d accidentally disturbed the flying creature–for example, by unintentionally stepping on one while running barefoot through the grass. Others develop these fears because of repeated, emphatic warnings from parents or guardians.

Effective Techniques To Stop Fear Of Wasps

Whatever the cause, the fear, itself, tends to follow a predictable pattern in most individuals. This means that victims of this phobia respond well to treatments that involve mental re-conditioning, such as hypnotherapy and NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). These techniques teach victims to analyze and discover for themselves the harmful thought patterns they wish to change.

Because the terror of a phobic person tends to a predictable pattern, these patterns can be recognized and changed. Think of how Pavlov’s dogs learned to “instinctively” salivate at the sound of a bell, despite the fact that they were born with no such instinct. Similarly, using a combination of NLP and hypnotherapy, you can learn to “instinctively” experience calm awareness in response to wasps (despite the fact that your “natural” reaction had previously been total panic). In this way, you can use potent psychological techniques to quell your fear of wasps.

Website content
